The EGG Hunt is the ONLY completely FREE Easter Egg Hunt in Consett, and in 2026 it celebrates its 10th year đ
Every Easter Sunday, thousands of children and adults take part in a town wide Easter adventure across iconic Consett locations. Families follow the trail, collect stamps or clues, and children receive prize baskets and treats at each stop.
There are no tickets, no entry fees and no catches.Â
You do have to fill out a family participant form closer to that time.Â
Just a free day out, fresh air, smiling kids and proper community spirit.
For many families, The EGG Hunt is a highlight of the year and an opportunity to enjoy something special without cost being a barrier. Over the past decade, the event has grown year on year, bringing together local businesses, volunteers and residents to create something truly unique.
It is organised and delivered by The BIG Consett Directory CIC, alongside Mr Mix, with all funding ring fenced purely for community benefit.

EGG HUNT 2026 â DAYTIME SIGN UP IS NOW LIVE
If you are planning on bringing your little ones to the FREE daytime EGG Hunt in ConsettâŚ
YOU MUST BE SIGNED UP.
This year we are capping registration at 100 children for now until further sponsorship comes in. I will not promise what we canât provide. Every child gets the same sized egg, the same amount of toys, books and bits. That only works if we control numbers properly.
Once 100 kids are registered, the form will close until we secure more funding.
So please donât assume you can just turn up.

The daytime EGG Hunt is FREE to attend.
All we ask is that families complete the registration form - released closer to the day - so we can plan numbers and send out event maps and updates closer to the day.
After the hunt, families can also choose to attend the optional AFTER PARTY at Blackhill Club for extra fun and prizes.
